How to Lose Weight and Keep It Off
It’s surprising how many people believe the only real way to lose weight is to try and follow an impossible diet plan that makes them feel as though they’re starving and then try to work out in the gym for hours every day.
In reality, losing weight and keeping it off for good doesn’t have to be so difficult. Rather than try to starve those extra pounds away or try to exercise until you drop, there are a few other aspects of your everyday lifestyle that might be contributing to that subtle weight gain.
By controlling the factors that contribute to weight gain, it suddenly becomes easier to lose those extra pounds and maintain a healthy weight without sacrificing all the things you love.
Modern technology makes our lives much easier, but it also contributes towards a less active lifestyle. Many people commute to work in a car or on public transport, before sitting behind a desk for most of the day, then commuting home again. By the time they get home, it’s time to relax and unwind in front of a TV or on the iPad before going to bed.
Others may find it difficult to get enough physical activity into each day after the birth of a child. Sleeping patterns are interrupted, normal routines are broken, and lack of energy all result in reduced activity levels.
No matter what the reason, our modern lifestyles make it easier to live a more sedentary lifestyle than ever before. Lack of physical activity contributes to weight gain, as your body simply isn’t burning the energy gained from the food you eat.
Making some time in each day to get a little more physical activity can help you achieve your weight loss goals more easily. Aside from working out at the best gym in Jacksonville, Onslow Fitness, finding other ways to include more activity throughout each day not only boosts your energy levels and but elevates your mood, as well.
Empty Calories and Processed Foods
If you’re serious about losing those extra pounds and keeping them off for good, think about some of the empty calories you consume each day. Processed foods and fast foods may seem convenient, but they are often filled with chemical additives, sugar, salt, saturated fat, and plenty of empty calories that don’t provide all the nutrients your body needs.
There are also hidden calories in the liquids you consume. Sodas laden with sugar and alcohol provide no nutritional value to your daily intake, but they can add hidden calories you might not have accounted for.
In order to lose weight and keep it off for good, eliminate any low quality food from your weekly meal plans. Take the time to prepare a nutrient-rich, balanced meal plan that includes protein as well as fresh fruits and vegetables for all the vitamins and minerals your body needs. Not only will you feel satisfied after each meal, but you should notice it becomes easier to lose weight more easily.
